BROADWAY MUSICALS AND BLOCKBUSTER FILMS I SHOULD WRITE
THE ART OF MONEY
Kiki Lui, an extremely talented artist from Peru, lands in New York to pursue a career in art and is discovered by ambitious, enterprising gallery owner and promoter, Chauncey Deville, while selling paintings on the street. Chauncey sees an art-star-in-the-making in Kiki, and pushes her into the limelight of New York's art scene, in the ruthless pursuit of Kiki's (and her own) fame and fortune. Blinded by desire, she sacrifices everything for Kiki, who has becomes jaded and distraught by the path her art has taken. Chauncey's husband, the wealthy Patrick Deville, is also left in the dust by his wife's ambitious goals and, much to Chauncey's chagrin, begins an affair with Kiki that is discovered only too late. Themes of integrity, success, and true love are explored in this Andrew Lloyd Webber-esque opera of the musical theatre stage.
GRINGAS: THE MUSICAL
Three girls set off for a month-long vacation in Argentina. After they land, it quickly becomes clear each girl has their own agenda for the trip. Julie seeks to reconnect with her father, who she believes left the family for an estancia in Mendoza, while Peggy seeks to reconcile with a British girl she betrayed years earlier living in Madrid. Marlene, meanwhile, just wants to sightsee, flirt with boys, tango, shop, and record the "girls only" trip so she has lots to scrapbook when she returns to the USA. They grapple with powerful memories from their past, reconcile feelings of regret and nostalgia, while dreaming of how they'll change their lives when they're back in their home country this musical that shows the power of vacation to bridge the gap from past to future. Features the (to be) hit show stopper "Kiss Me (On Rat Corner)".
BALL BREAKERS
Brenda "Tiger Eyes" Johnson (Tina Fey) is the captain of Zoo Haven, a local all-female pool team extraordinaire and one-time state champions. When long time rival and current national champion Heather "Ice Queen" Smith (Amy Poehler) is recruited to help restore the team to victory, Brenda must learn to let go of the past in order to play. Kim Cattral co-stars as their aging, droll manager who tries to get the two ladies to reconcile and restore Zoo Haven to prominence. Also, she's kind of slutty.
THE GREAT PRETENDERS
Frank Ray (Ben Stiller) is a struggling actor who plans his wife Betty's wedding at a local retirement community to save money by convincing his bride that it's what his Alzheimer's addicted parents want. After making a fortune in wedding presents, Frank convinces his wife to travel throughout the Florida region to swindle elderly couples in retirement homes everywhere. It's a great charade, until Betty begins to fall for the private investigator following on their heels.
